Carey & Co is committed to developing environments for real people where they can live, work and play in harmony with their surroundings and each other by interpreting their unique lifestyle, taste and needs with creative design solutions and responsive, personal and professional service.

Denise Carey grew up in upstate New York and was a design major at the State University College of New York at Buffalo before moving to the west coast. While in Southern California she worked as an art director for an educational magazine and as a graphic artist for an international restaurant corporation. After moving to Northern California Denise owned her own graphic design business for over 12 years and won various graphic design awards. A move to the South Bay changed her direction and sent her back to school for her Interior Design degree. Within a few short years of graduating from the West Valley College program Denise found her artistic stride with projects resulting in California Home & Design Third Place Award for Kitchen Design (2003), ASID CA Peninsula Chapter’s Judge’s Choice Awards (2006, 2008), Awards of Distinction (1999, 2006 & 2008) and Awards of Excellence (2000, 2008). Her designs are fresh, innovative and showcase products and finishes in unique ways. Denise enjoys creating the architecture of spaces as well as planning the furnishings. Her designs have been published in Sunset Magazine, California Home & Design, Today’s Home and Gentry.

Giving back to the community she has lived in for over 20 years is very important to her. Community service projects through Design Response for AIM, Inc., Mayfair Community Health Care, AACI (Asian Americans for Community Involvement) and CityTeam International’s House of Grace are all non-profit organizations that she has worked on to benefit the South Bay community. She has also participated in Kara Grief Counseling fundraisers and has been a part-time instructor of Interior Design Graphic Techniques at West Valley College in Saratoga, CA.
